Kenneth C. Steven,
Early booksThe Unborn was the first full-length book I ever finished, written at 16 when I was supposed to be studying for Highers. A fantasy novel tackling the subject of abortion, it went on to be short-listed for the Deo Gloria Award. The first two collections of poetry, Remembering Peter and The Pearl Fisher, were published by the National Poetry Foundation in England. A first collection of work from Saint Andrew Press was Splinters. The first children’s title was a fantasy too, a picture book entitled The Boy and the Blue Balloon. Of Rowan and PearlThe idea for this book came from a conversation with the author Margaret Gillies Brown. The two of us decided to put together poems reflecting our respective experiences of wild Scotland; Margaret’s work often in homage to the farming world and its people, my own inspired first and foremost by the rivers and hills of home. (Suggested poem to use, The Slide) |
